Director’s Corner:
I hope you all received the email announcing our high level operating plan for the 20/21 season. The email included Rob’s letter to our guests, sharing how our pass reservation system will be utilized as well as his internal communication highlighting how employee and dependent passes will work this season. I feel honored and privileged to work for a company that is so dedicated to their employees that they make decisions to support our lifestyle and well-being. As Rob stated in his email, “employee and dependent passes will be exempt from the guest reservations system and will enable you to freely enjoy the mountains at any time (with the exception of traditional blackout restrictions when there is limited terrain).” Additionally, I am thrilled to see that Vail Resorts is dedicated to our Ski & Snowboard School guest by ensuring them a mountain access reservation when they book a lesson with our school. This announcement highlights the importance of the school to the guest experience and gives our product priority in regards to mountain access. There is still much detail to work through, but this is a reassurance that the work is being done to get us open for winter and with a lesson product available to our guests. Rest assured that things will be very different this season and that we are all going to need to showcase our agility and flexibility working in this new environment. I can’t think of another team that I would rather take that challenge on with.
I am excited and committed to a successful winter with lots of time enjoying the mountains. I look forward to seeing you all soon!
