Forever Part of Our Beaver Creek Instructor Family
It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear colleagues, Herta Von Ohlsen, Calvin Jarboe, and Rick Karden. Our deepest sympathies are extended to their family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
Herta, Calvin, and Rick were valued members of the Beaver Creek Ski and Snowboard School team for many years, and their contributions and positive spirit will always be remembered. They will be greatly missed.
Services for Herta were held on July 10.
Services for Calvin were held on August 23.
Services for Rick were held on August 23.

Summer Certification
Training Clinics
Back by popular demand, Vail Resorts is hosting summer online instructor certification training clinics starting on June 2nd. These summer online training sessions will hosted weekly on the ZOOM online training platform Monday-Thursday from 6 PM to 7:30 PM MST.
MONDAY: Children's Specialist
TUESDAY: Snowboard
WEDNESDAY: Alpine
THURSDAY: Adaptive Specialist

We are now accepting applications for Instructor and Support Staff positions! If you know someone who would be a great fit, please encourage them to apply and join the Beaver Creek Ski and Snowboard School family.
Important Referral Information
If you refer someone for one of these roles, please ensure they include your legal first and last name and 6-digit employee ID number on their application. This information is required for you to be eligible for any potential referral credit later this fall/winter.
After submitting their application, referred applicants should email rleclerc@vailresorts.com so Ryan Leclerc can track their application through the Vail Resorts hiring system and help prevent any delays.

We are no longer hiring for Snowboard Instructors the upcoming season.
Returning Staff Reminder:
Employees who receive a rating of "Achieves Expectations" or higher on their 2024–2025 End of Season Performance Evaluation do not need to reapply for the 2025–2026 winter season.
Years of Service Celebration
On April 3, 2025, 299 Beaver Creek employees were honored for their years of service with Vail Resorts during a celebration at Saddle Ridge. Among them, 100 employees from the Beaver Creek Ski and Snowboard School were recognized for reaching service milestones.
These milestones included 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years of service.
A special highlight of the event was our very own Karen Larsen, who was the sole honoree recognized for an incredible 45 years of service!

Designated Travel Routes
Designated Travel Routes are approved routes for Ski & Snowboard School instructors who are skiing or riding on the clock without students.
Example: An instructor traveling from one base area to another to meet a guest.
Please read, understand, and follow all designated travel routes in the link below. Failure to adhere to these routes may result in disciplinary action.
